LOOSEY is a New York City band to its core. Made up of a mix of NYC transplants and tri-state area natives, this multi-cultural, multi-gendered and multi-faceted band is committed to one thing and one thing only, big bang rock ‘n’ roll. You know, the kind meant for loud singalongs, iced down suds, and reminding the world about the importance of a fuckin’ good time. In an age of darkness, upheaval and uncertainty, we all need a little celebration– we all need a lot of LOOSEY.

Following the tragic end of shooting star punk greats New York Hounds, LOOSEY began as a coping mechanism for a pair of friends with a shared love of Rock ‘n Roll. The passing of Simon Santana may have been a devastating loss for the hardcore punk and metal community, but tragedy begot triumph in this new collaboration. “After Simon’s passing, I was devastated, and it was with a church organ and a good friend Michael Rekevics that got me through that time,” says vocalist Fizzy. “Creating those demos was not only catharsis for me and Mike, but it turned a dark situation into one of celebration– celebration of someone who changed my life and who I’ll miss forever.”

LOOSEY is pure Glam jubilation– mixing the big stomp of SLADE, the classic Power Pop of TEENAGE FANCLUB, and riffy Pub Rock like AC/DC into a single DIY-driven package. The band excels at creating finely-crafted, hard-rockin’ confections with an undercurrent of punk grit but most importantly, LOOSEY is fun– something sorely missing in the overly serious arenas of Punk, Indie Rock and the like. Audiences responded immediately, bringing hand claps and their best dance moves to shows previously dominated by mosh pits and stage dives.  At this early stage, the band had no recordings to speak of, but word-of-mouth spread far and wide, leading to shows and festival fly-ins across the country.

Once LOOSEY recordings began to take life, in the form of a pair of cassettes released in 2023 and 2024, those earworms were complimented with that stage swagger, further building the band’s reputation as a live phenom. Their reputation for owning the stage quickly led to shows with the TEMPLARS, the MARKED MEN, SHEER MAG, NOTHING, RIXE, MURPHY'S LAW, HAYWIRE, the CHISEL, in addition to touring stints with BETON ARME, ANGEL DUST, ALVILDA and others. “LOOSEY gets all of its power from the live show, and we’ve been fortunate enough to have loyal fans despite our limited run so far,” says Rekevics. “When you watch the old videos of the WHO or SLADE, they’re larger than life– they totally own the stage and are completely flamboyant. It’s been a bit since I’ve seen a band try to own the stage in the same way they did, and that’s what we try to do every night. I think the times deserve a big rock ‘n’ roll band, not only now but forever.”

Those limited edition, fan favorite releases, recorded at HOFL HQ and Sounds of Glory in Brooklyn respectively, are gathered along with new material for the band’s compilation LP due via TKO Records on May 7th. Featuring 10 tracks including the new banger “Oblivion Monster,“ A Retrospective: 2023-2025, is a snapshot and a catch all to hearing one of the most exciting new rock ‘n’ roll bands of the 2020s. “In the current renaissance of Oi!/Skinhead/Street Rock ‘n’ Roll music, LOOSEY stands outside the pack,” says Mark Rainey of TKO. “This is music that will make you want to shake your ass and punch someone in the face at the same time. TKO Records could not be happier to have the opportunity to help spread the gospel of LOOSEY.”
