the BELTONES - "Cheap Trinkets" LP (LTD. Red Vinyl)
With TKO rapidly approaching 30 years of operation, it’s an unfortunate fact that we don’t always get to keep titles in print for as long as they deserve.
But sometimes enough is enough….
And thus, after 24 agonizingly long years, we are happy to announce that the BELTONES’ 2001 classic Cheap Trinkets is finally receiving a painfully overdue TKO reissue. Don’t say we never did nothing for ya.
Not only is Cheap Trinkets one of the crown jewels of the early TKO catalog, this album is critical piece of American Punk music. Remastered and expanded to include some comp tracks, b-sides and other easter eggs, this edition of Cheap Trinkets is being granted all the attention and fanfare warranted by a record of its caliber. As the last entry to date in the BELTONES’ criminally brief discography, Cheap Trinkets exists as an unassailable piece of the North American Punk canon, and it’s high time everyone got a not so gentle reminder.
Maybe you think it’s overkill to callout the BELTONES as the Stiff Little Fingers of their time? Maybe mom should’ve laid off the hooch while you were in the womb?
Legendary. Definitive. Essential.
Call it what you will. The simple fact is that Cheap Trinkets distills Punk spirit into its most essential components and delivers them with an ineffable quality that only the most vital artists in the genre can achieve.
